Characters will be waking up in the murky, nasty waters of the mall on June 30th, at 6:00PM PST, which is when our very first Intro Log will go up. For now, this is your OOC Intro Post, so feel free to post with code below and meet and greet your fellow players!

P.S.: As a note, on the intro log, Characters’ inventories will be scattered throughout the mall and NOT on their person when they actually arrive in the water. Because of that, feel free to use this post to plot out if you’d like other characters to come across your belongings first!

about them: felix is a prickly ye olde who seems like a total jerk - and i mean, he kind of is? he's distant, he's not afraid to say exactly what's on his mind at any given moment, he's always ready for a good spar (bonus points if his opponent is also a sword enthusiast)... but he's not a bad guy! he respects strong, hard-working people who think for themselves. stick around him long enough and you'll find someone who genuinely cares for others, even if he's not, like, the best at actually expressing it. he is soft... not-so-deep down...
etc: abilities-wise, felix likes swords! felix can hit stuff real good. felix can also blast your ass with some lightning magic, so we have a regular renaissance man here, baybee. ...jk, he's really going to stick to his swords for 99% of things.

for his inventory, i would LOVE for people to find his shit! PLEASE! he's bringing two (2) cool swords with him, and they are his babies... do you want your character to find them? swing them around for fun and have felix give them a lecture about respecting quality weaponry??? i sure want this.

he also has a spooky shield made from dragon bone, aka a super powerful Relic from his world, and a black iron spur that's just, you know. a cool memento from his dead older bro. :') these come with emotions attached, so hey! let's get a jumpstart on some cr!

about them: Constantin is a 17th century millennial, more or less. In reality he is a governor and a prince with a Sad Backstory and Bad Parents who only wants to ADVENTURE!! and maybe be loved for once in his life, but sadly his job requires him to sit behind a desk and do paperwork. He is feeble and sickly and recently recovered (miraculously) from a deadly blood plague, which has only made his reckless abandon even worse. He likes to drink and party and start fights he cannot possibly win because, again, he is like if dry fettuccine were a person?

But he does mean well and he is an excitable Yes Man if you're looking for that in a friend. Please be Connie's friend... he needs it......

about them: a psychopath assassin working for shady people, but who cares about them, they're losers. villanelle is fun! she loves fashion, loud music, and filling the hollow void of being alive and bored with meaningless distractions and violence. will 100% lie about her career to everyone she meets and then, for added fun, keep making up new outlandish stories until she gets caught. works as hard as possible to always be the most extra person in the room. will HATE the awful american mall they are trapped in, dear god she will scream. mostly tho she's gonna be moody for a bit because she just had a really bad break up and someone got shot and it wasn't her.

in all seriousness villanelle is a pretty unstable gal and may be prone to violence and murder if the mood is right. it won't get that far without ooc communication to OK it but she can be pretty damn monstrous, so just keep that in mind.

interests/etc: I don't plurk too often about much more than RP, but I play a lot of video games! FFXIV has been a mainstay; I'm a pretty avid raider, though I'm about to take a break from that. In addition to playing a bunch of normal games, I play dumb mobages... GBF, Arknights. I'm an artist! I'm hoping to draw some stuff for Harrow, since ... playing book characters ...

about them: She's awful and I love her.

Harrow is an acerbic, dire little bone witch from a series about necromancer lesbians in space! She's extremely goth. Being goth is pretty much her religion, and she's very devout. She's the deuteragonist of the first book (which is her canonpoint) and the protagonist of the second book, which is coming out in early August (though the first act is available for free as an ebook currently, so I use some content from that as well, as it sheds some light on her perspective of the first book). She is a prodigious bone adept, meaning that she can do some pretty incredible things with bones, like raise an entire skeletal construct from something as small as a knucklebone! Sadly, her resources are going to be very limited here, especially for someone who was basically raised in an ossuary. So she's going to be slightly manic about that. Anyways, she's probably going to be super easy to get negative CR with, because trying to get her to trust and/or work with someone else who isn't a very specific singular (1) person is like pulling teeth. But if you work through that, she can be useful to have around! She's pretty good at staying alive, seeing as though she's already just come from a situation vaguely similar to this.

I almost don't want to go too far into her whole Thing because my innermost desire is to make as many people read this series as I can, and it's all very spoilers. But, as a lightning round summary: Harrow is a very stringent and driven person, and somewhere, buried deep beneath about three hundred layers of bone jewelry, face paint, barbed sleights, and careful conniving, there is ... a disaster lesbian with poor social adjustment who is in love with a corpse that's been asleep for ten thousand years. Harrow... putting the "romance" in "necromancer." (:
etc: If you find pretty much any of her items, she will be very forceful in getting them back. This goes double for her journal (mostly written in code, though you can find a few maps/floorplans in the pages), her face paints, and the two (2) human bones which will be somewhere around the building.

about them: i am just copy pasting this from the interest check because it's the same: oh god where do i start. theatre kid. recently graduated from high school idol. his brain is super broken and he is very bad at seeming like a real person but he is doing his best. extremely high energy and talks about love and dreams and anything that makes people say amazing! 24/7. also a stage magician and he WILL pop out of nowhere and sometimes explodes with doves/roses when he is excited. if you don't like him that will only make him like you MORE. extremely dramatic and loves it when people are mean to him/try to kill him, and is nearly incapable of disliking anyone.

etc: he is really, really good at sleight of hand but i always feel bad assuming that super badass cool warrior characters get fooled by it when i'm like [ pulls a rose out of seemingly nowhere!!! ] so please feel free to be like [ oh he definitely just pulled that rose out of his pants ] if you think that's fun. this includes him sneaking up on people and popping out of nowhere like a jumpscare freak. if your character will have noticed him, it's fine with me, etc, just note that he is extremely good at being a menace.

he can also... theoretically... hypnotize people but i think i'm going to use that really sparingly because it's not like he does it a lot, so whenever it comes up i'll ask first no matter what LOL.

he can do a metric shit ton of other weird things but i think those are the two that need the most attention. he's an actor/idol/stage magician who learns whatever he can, even if it's not even remotely idol-like, so.

also his hair is prehensile.

as for his inventory uhhhh if you find some masks floating around... they are probably his! maybe that rose over there, too.

about them: raylan is a deputy US marshal with a practiced quickdraw who acts like he's in the wild west but it's 2010 and kentucky. he is rife with daddy issues and constantly teetering on the edge of becoming an outlaw and has one of those Narrative Foils you've all been hearing so much about whose name is boyd crowder (nobody is named normal things in this show tbh). raylan is constantly getting in trouble with his boss for shooting criminals and getting into old timey western standoffs with people. his most important facet, however, is that he wears double denim sometimes and it ALWAYS looks fuckin good
etc: OK SO in raylan's inventory raylan has 2 handguns, an extra clip of bullets, his US marshal badge and ID, and an official marshals service silver dollar from 2010, and although it's part of his outfit i would also like to throw raylan's hat and his horseshoe ring into the mix for stuff that he will have to find around the mall, so if anyone wants to do anything thataways LET ME KNOW...he will be like DESPERATE to get his hat and gun back lmao

about them: A genderless rock person from a world without humans. Cinnabar was born with a body filled with deadly poison that corrodes most things and kills any living thing it touches; as a result, they've been unable to be close to any of their fellow gems, and have lived alone for hundreds of years. This is because they don't want to hurt any of the others. While they are a kind and intelligent person, their deep self-loathing and fear of rejection leads them to typically behave in a bristly and contrary way, hoping to keep others at arms' length in order to avoid any tragedies. In truth, they're incredibly lonely. They are extremely anxious, disliking being around too many people or even being looked at by them, and fluster easily under attention. Observant and philosophical. Usually sad.

UH they are not human and have some weird qualities, they're constantly surrounded by floating balls of mercury for one thing... you can find out more on their info page.

about them: Abbbacchio is a grumpy goth who was once a cop but got kicked out and then some hot guy invited him to the Italian mafia instead. He's a bit of an alcoholic, a lot of a jerk with a heart of gold. He might be hard to befriend, but once you do gain his friendship it's FOR LIFE BABY.
etc: Abbacchio has something called a Stand. The canonical summary of a Stand is that they're the embodiment of someone's fighting spirit, but usually Stand users can only see other people's Stands. However, I tend to play fast and loose with that idea, so if you want to see Abbacchio's Stand, I'm cool with that! His name is Moody Blues and he can play back moments of the past, kind of like a VHS recording but in 3D baby. If you have questions about what the hell a Stand is or anything else, I will try to answer!

but no, he's a mostly good boy trying to repent for the Sins of his Past and he's going to need all that Power of Bonds thing to pull through, so! let's be friends?? friends are good.
etc: Dimitri doesn't have any magic skills, but he is skilled with spears and swords! so for his inventory, he'll be bringing: one silver sword and one silver spear! there's also a very ordinary dagger that has no emotional significance to him whatsoever, what do you mean this was his parting gift to his childhood sweetheart who is now his greatest enemy, how preposterous.

there's also Areadbhar which is a special lance and a family heirloom, so it's kind of a big deal? oh it's also made of dragon bone and heart. and it kinda pulsates. yeah. finally, one concoction that has lost all healing properties but does taste delicious! who wants a fizzy pop??

also Dimitri is kinda of freakishly strong? like, able to lift a toppled wagon strong? so, uhh, be careful, maybe?

about them: He's . . . gross. No, but really: Haymitch is a cynical alcoholic doing his best to retire after spending two decades watching children slaughter themselves under government mandated order, and then there was a whole civil war (which he sort of helped bring about), and honestly, he's just exhausted at this point. He just wants to retire with his geese!

Sadly, he's coming to a mall instead. He's overall a good person with a good heart, but boy is there a lot of sarcasm and defensiveness to get through before you get there.

etc: he came in with some alcohol and a knife, and it's anyone's guess as to what he'll be missing first, but assuredly everyone will hear him complain about both. He's also coming in with a mockingjay pin, which he'll miss a lot too but will not complain about, because that shit is private, you gotta be level 2 in friendship to unlock that backstory.

about them: Sickly idol boy who started an idol war and a whole mess of ridiculous things. He's a rich boy who's dying and jokes about it too casually all the time and just barely learned about friendship. He enjoys tea and monologuing for hours regardless of whether you want to hear it or not, and he's a top idol who owns/manages a whole business of various agencies!! I never know how to summarize him bc he takes 500 years just like his speeches, forgive me.
etc: the most "interesting" thing he brought is a life sized wataru doll so if someone wants to find that, enjoy, please return to owner or wataru probably
he also has an "eichi-kun gauge" that's like an apple watch or fitbit but all it does is measure eichi's health and beep when his health is low so it probably has his name on it somewhere for identifying. otherwise it's all useless.

canon: Sonic the Hedgehog (games, mostly, with some IDW comic characterization for flavor)
about them: SILVER IS A SMOL FUTURE BOI!!! No really, he's like 3'3". But he's full of surprises -- mostly, psychic surprises. Silver is a gifted psychokinetic and can move, manipulate, and crush objects (and people...) with his mind. He's also like 85% cinnamon roll and 15% brat. Young and naive, but has experience with apocalypses!! He travels through time to find and stop the sources of bad ends in his world.
etc: Silver is only bringing an extra set of gloves and boots :( He doesn't have a lot of stuff.

about them: azula is a 14 year old princess/prodigy who toppled a whole kingdom a couple months ago. she's a firebender, and she can, will, and has tried to murder people with lightning. :) you know, ordinary teenage stuff! most recently, her dad, in an effort to hit a new level of rock bottom as a parent, went off to burn down the earth kingdom and named her the new fire lord.

she's uh. handling it. let's call it that. last thing she did in canon was to try and murder her brother while having a bit of a break from reality, so she's doing massively Fine.

basically she could use a cup of tea, a few adults, and an introductory course on how to make friends without using threats of bodily harm. and a quick lesson on make-up maybe because whatever she does before agni kai makes it look a lot like she doesn't usually do that... by herself... but she bannished her servants... and now it's mall time...

about them: Schuldig is a 22-year-old telepathic assassin who has done nothing wrong, ever, in his life, and you should know this and love him. His hobbies include causing problems on purpose, helping his employers complete a ritual that will cause some sort of eldritch abomination to be summoned to earth in the body of a sixteen-year-old girl, and getting bored halfway through disposing of bodies and trying to justify it by saying that you can't judge him because you can't possibly understand him, he is an ARTIST. He's coming into Collected fresh off of failing to bring about the end of days and getting his stupid ass dumped in the ocean for it, so waking up in the nasty waters won't actually surprise him that much at first. Despite all of the above, he is actually a people person and is canonically described as easy to get along with. Go figure.

etc: Abilities-wise, Schuldig is a telepath, which means he can potentially read people's minds! Please see his permissions post for more on that; naturally, I will default to assuming people do not want his powers used on them, but I would love to plot things with people using it if they're interested!

Inventory-wise, he is bringing a gun and some ammunition, as well as a music player and headphones. All of which he will emphatically want back! The gun is currently spoken for at the moment, and he'll have his other two items on him when he arrives find his other two items on his own (whoops I can read), but he'll also be inclined to hoard things like a pack rat so let's definitely jumpstart some CR via inventory!

about them: Zuko is the crown prince of the Fire Nation and also a moron. He has recently undergone three whole seasons' worth of character development from Bad Guy to Tired Guy Trying His Best. He has anger management problems and can set things on fire, which is a fun combo, and his little sister is also here and trying to kill him, and he also has no idea how to interact with other people like a normal human being, so he's going to have a great time being stuck in a shopping mall when he's from Fantasy 19th Century Asia. Please be patient with him, he's having been having a rough time lately and only knows how to express his emotions by yelling and running headlong into traffic.

about them: sylvain is your typical older brother type with A Lot of Issues™ buried under 17 layers of fuckboy lingo and self deprecating humor. yikes. he's gotten better though, since i'm taking him post-timeskip, where he's spent like 5-6 years on the front lines of a war trying to defend the kingdom and had to like, actually get serious. anyway, he's cool, he's chill, he's smart, he's charming and kind of really tired while also lowkey dealing with depression but this is fine! like the rest of his cast, he's from ye olden times so like all this fancy technology like indoor plumbing?? cell phones??? air conditioning????? wild af.
etc: sylvain favors lances and axes for his weapons of choice and is pretty good at using them! he also has a variety of nifty fire magic at his disposal, as well as some minor healing magic. he's unfortunately Broad and Tall and wears armor that covers every part of him except his face and his groin, so i guess we all know where his priorities (or lack thereof) lie.

as for his inventory, he's got a pack containing some rations and a chess set inside; a bed roll, a steel axe, and a change of clothes (think abercrombie & fitch, but like, in the 12th century). please feel free to find any of these, or steal his clothes, it's cool even if he'd appreciate it if you gave them back. especially the chess set, he likes that one a lot. he also has the lance of ruin which is a creepy lance made from dragon bones that wiggles a lot; felix will be taking one for the team and grabbing this one, thankfully.

canon: Final Fantasy XV
about them: Prompto is a big sweetie with a whole mess of issues. Mostly he will be polite and friendly even if he is internally screaming. He’s from a modern fantasy world so he knows about both using the internet and fighting monsters and he’d rather talk about the former than then the latter. His bff is the prince of his nation and you probably shouldn’t ask about him unless you want to listen to Prompto gush for an hour.

He recently learned he’s actually a clone who was genetically engineered to become a mindless super soldier and he’s still dealing with that. I would love to explore this more so if anyone wants to explore similar issues let’s see what we can cook up!

He’s also really good at shooting guns and he’s an amateur photographer so characters can talk to him about that too.
etc: Prompto’s most important possessions that came with him are his gun and his camera and honestly he cares more about the camera than the gun. He also has some lumen flares which are similar to flash grenades, so that might be fun for someone to find. If you’d like to play with that let me know!

I'm playing him from gameverse despite the comics icons (I just think the art's so good....) which means while he may be a genius scientist hellbent on world domination and occasional bouts of Serious Villany (did you know he threatened to eat a guy's heart once? wild) he's still got the shades of saturday morning cartoon villany that either endear you or make you think "why the hell is this guy so goofy, oh right he's from the hedgehog franchise". He's rude and impatient and arrogant and childish, but he's so incredibly intelligent the fact he built a space station the size of a death star is one of the least impressive things he's ever done. Also, no matter how well you work with him, he's absolutely only doing it out of self preservation and he will use you until the second you stop being helpful........so hey! Good thing he's in a really small horror game I'm sure it'll work out fine and nobody will die (like him)

about them: ren's a 17 year old silent protag, but he's been described as quiet and aloof, with a strong sense of justice. he was wrongly accused of assault for saving a lady being sexually assaulted, which landed him juvenile detention, and he went on to serve his probation in tokyo. he's not the life of the party so much as he serves as a sensitive leader and listener. he helps each of his friends, both peers and adults, sort through their issues. in the real world, he assumes a non-disruptive persona to blend in with students because of his terrible reputation and criminal record, but in actuality he's very confident, cocky, and infuriatingly stubborn. among an arsenal of part-time jobs and odd talents, he's also a barista, a phantom thief of hearts, and he can make a mean plate of curry. quite fond of cat puns.

in collected, he doesn't need to be in the metaverse to change into his phantom thief outfit when the enemy considers him hostile. he can summon his single persona (arsene), effectively losing his "wildcard" attribute considering it would've been too overpowered otherwise!

as for inventory: ren's missing his paradise lost dagger and gun of a thousand demons. those picking those up will notice they're just fancy model weapons until he actually engage in battle. additionally, his brown satchel, affectionately named cat-purse, is missing. please let me know if your character to be the one that finds any of these items! he'll forever be grateful.

about them: Meet Historia Reiss: formerly the Queen of the Walls, now the Queen of the Mall. She’s 92 and a half pounds of self-hatred, melancholy, and teenage existential angst—for which she has her family to thank! Neither her father (a nobleman) nor her mother (his mistress) wanted much to do with her; their disinterest gave her the impression there wasn’t much point to her living and that maybe she would’ve been better off dead.

To give her life some sort of purpose, compensate for the attention she missed out on as a child, and just generally Cope™, she spent the better part of five years pretending to be somebody else entirely. As Krista Lenz, she endeared herself to everyone with sugar-sweet smiles and her self-sacrificing kindness, which earned her the title of the “Goddess” of the 104th Training Corps. She’s since done away with the Good Girl façade, but she’s still learning to come into her own while also being queen, fending off naked, man-eating giants… and now, uh, this.

The circumstances of her birth have been a huge point of contention for basically her entire life, so Historia’ll make fast friends with anyone who also finds themselves burdened by their name and blood. Failing that, technology where she’s from isn’t too far-removed the stuff you’d find pre-Industrial era Europe(? please don’t ask me im know nothing), so if you can teach her what the fuck a “photo” is and why you’d need a booth for it, I’m sure she’d appreciate that, too.
etc: Are you looking to make off with somebody else’s stuff? Cool! Scattered around the mall are a harness, two oversized box-cutter blades, gas canisters, and a weird wire chamber-thing—all bits and pieces that make up a set of vertical maneuvering equipment. Less useful (but nevertheless up for grabs) is Historia’s military uniform, which is so small it’d pass for a kids’ Halloween costume, and a crown that looks a little something like this. If you’re hoping to keep any of it, the former two won’t fit anyone taller than 4’9”. Sorry! The latter, though not of any extra special significance to Historia, will likely draw Somebody Else’s attention should you choose to keep it, though, so, uh… steal it at your own peril, I guess.

For any characters sensitive to the supernatural, etc., it’s worth noting that while Historia is still technically human, there’s a chance she might register a bit weirdly on account of her ancestry; being a descendent of the first person to harness the power of Titan Shifting allows her to, under the right conditions (that won’t be met in Collected), turn into a Titan, too. How you want to interpret that is up to you!

Her semblance (superpower) allows her to utilize superspeed via turning into a burst of roses on occasion - and then there are her silver eyes, which can wreak havoc on canon monsters.
